The fight that everyone has been anticipating finally happened. Two of the best fighters of all time Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. finally boxed. Both athletes were characterized to be in their prime in the 1990’s, but the fight between them never happened back then. Between Roy Jones Jr. moving between weight classes and Mike Tyson getting into trouble with the law it seemed like this fight would never happen, until it did.
The fight couldn’t be characterized as the fight that we were all waiting for, but it satisfied the nostalgia all the same. Both fighters being in their 50s and with Mike Tyson being out of boxing for over a decade the fight was an exhibition, meaning the were no official score keepers. Both fighters were also instructed for no knock outs and to keep it around the same level as a heavy spare. This fight was doomed to be ruled a draw from the beginning, but in the middle of one of the worse years in modern history it sure was great to have something to get our minds off of 2020 for a while and enjoy ourselves for a moment at least.
